Luigi Hernandez

Luigi H. Hernandez is the Founder and President of Excellere Construction, LLC, and a highly accomplished Professional Civil Engineer with more than 25 years of experience in engineering and construction.

 

Mr. Hernandez earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Specialist’s Degree in Highway Engineering, and a master’s degree in Transportation. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and a General Contractor Qualified Agent in the state of Georgia, in addition to holding various other professional certifications.

Over the past 19 years, Mr. Hernandez has specialized in estimating and managing a wide range of infrastructure projects, including estimating and managing roadway improvements, multi-use trails, parks, and streetscape projects. He has earned a strong reputation throughout the Metro Atlanta area and is well-known among government officials across numerous cities and counties, as well as the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

 

Throughout his career, he has served as Chief Estimator, Project Manager, and Field Superintendent on hundreds of public and private projects. Mr. Hernandez has spent over six years focused on highway design and conducted traffic and transportation studies, contributing significantly to infrastructure planning and development.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Hernandez is a passionate soccer enthusiast. In his personal time, he enjoys spending quality time with his two children and traveling.

Superintendent

Alvaro Acosta

Alvaro began his construction career in 1996, during a period of rapid development in Atlanta, as the city prepared for the Summer Olympics. Over the past 31 years, he has risen through the ranks, from laborer, to concrete finisher, to foreman and now Superintendent. His expertise is grounded through hands-on experience and a relentless work ethic, with a specialization in concrete construction, from trails, retaining walls, bridges, or roads, there are no proposed structures that intimidate him. Alvaro is on-site at first light, ensuring his crew is well structured for the day and the weeks ahead, all for the successful completion of his projects and a reputation to maintain.

Superintendent

Daniel Hernandez

Daniel Hernandez is a Superintendent at Excellere Construction with over 27 years of experience in road construction and public site development. He brings deep expertise in concrete construction, flatwork, earthwork, retaining walls, sidewalks, curb and gutter, and drainage infrastructure. Daniel is currently playing a key role in Excellere’s largest active project, the Mount Vernon Highway Intersection Improvement Project for the City of Sandy Springs, where he is leading the execution of both gravity and soldier pile retaining walls. Outside of work, Daniel enjoys spending time in nature—fishing, hiking, and exploring the outdoors.

Superintendent

Jose Badillo

Jose Badillo has over 18 years of experience in construction. Jose is one of the top superintendents currently working with Excellere Construction. Jose specializes in the construction of boardwalks, including helical piers, and the installation of storm drainage. His most remarkable projects are Big Creek in Forsyth County, GA, which consists of over 1 mile of boardwalks and Chattahoochee River Trail in Mableton, GA, which consists of over 4,000 LF of walking trails in addition to 400 LF of boardwalk. When Jose is not in the field, he enjoys going on nature walks, cooking, and watching sports (Go Packers!). Jose is always ready for his next challenging project.

Superintendent

Bernabe Lachino

“Bernie”, has always been drawn to the rhythm of construction. With over 22 years of hands-on experience in the horizontal construction industry, he has built a career rooted in precision and persistence, specializing in concrete work, drainage structures, and earthwork grading. His leadership on-site is steady and dependable, ensuring every detail is in place and every crew is aligned with purpose. On the weekends, he enjoys fishing, spending time outdoors and often revisiting the projects he has helped bring to life next to his family.

Superintendent

Javier Pioquinto

Javier Pioquinto has over 17 years of experience in construction. Javier is one of Excellere’s newest superintendents. He started as a carpenter on a vast project in Forsyth County called Big Creek, where he helped install over 1 mile of boardwalks. Javier also assisted in Dallas, GA on Battlefield Trail Phase II, which consists of over a mile of walking trail and boardwalks. On the Cricket Frog project, Javier helped install new bridge decking over the Alcovy River. When Javier is not in the field, he prefers to spend time with friends and family, travel, or take long walks. Javier is always ready to see what the next project can teach him.
